Easy Easter activities for the whole family

Easter is around the corner, and it's the perfect time to engage kids in a spectrum of craft and fun activities.

Tie Dyed Easter Eggs

A twist on a classic Easter craft. Suitable for ages 3+ with adult supervision.

Supplies:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Vinegar
  • Food coloring in various shades
  • Bi Carb Soda
  • Paint brushes
  • Small bowls
  • A muffin tray

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prep the eggs by boiling them until hard, then letting them cool.
  2. Place an egg in each hole of the muffin tray.
  3. In small bowls, mix bi carb soda with a few drops of food dye to make the "paint".
  4. Using paint brushes, apply the different coloured "paint" to the eggs. The muffin tray will aid to keep the mess contained.
  5. Once all the eggs are painted leave for 10 mins for the colour to set.
  6. Then pour a mixture of vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 4 parts water) into each muffin hole. Kids will delight in seeing their creations fizz as the bi carb and vinegar reacts.
  7. Carefully remove the eggs, and rinse in cold water. Dry them with paper towels and marvel at the tie dyed results!

Easter Bunny Ears

Create a set of bunny ears that your children can wear proudly throughout the Easter season. Suitable for ages 2+ (get an adult to assist with cutting the ears).

Supplies:

  • Cardstock or construction paper in pastel colours
  • Scissors
  • Markers or stickers (optional)
  • Glue or tape
  • Headband

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Cut out two ear shapes from the cardstock.
  2. Decorate the ears with markers, stickers, or any embellishments of choice.
  3. Attach the ears to the headband using glue or tape.
