Fresh Ravioli with Sauce

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the ravioli and cook according to the package instructions, usually 4-6 minutes, until they float to the surface and are cooked through. Drain well.
  2. While the ravioli are cooking, heat the tomato pasta sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until simmering. You can add a splash of olive oil and some cracked black pepper to enhance the sauce, if desired.
  3. Prepare the garlic bread according to the package instructions. This usually involves baking it in the oven for about 10-15 minutes at a specified temperature, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. To serve, place a generous amount of the warm tomato sauce at the bottom of each plate. Arrange the cooked ravioli over the sauce and sprinkle generously with freshly grated Parmigiano cheese.
  5. Garnish the ravioli with fresh basil leaves for a burst of colour and freshness.
  6. Serve immediately with a slice or two of the crispy garlic bread on the side.

Ingredients

  • 1 package fresh ravioli (your choice of filling)
  • 2 cups tomato pasta sauce (homemade or high quality store-bought)
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Parmigiano cheese, freshly grated, to taste
  • 1 package pre-made garlic bread
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil (optional, for drizzling)
