Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Add in the cubed butter and use your fingertips to rub it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the grated cheese and diced ham.

  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk or cream. Using a fork, stir the mixture until it comes together to form a dough.

  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 1-2 minutes until it is smooth and even. Roll out the dough to about 2cm thick. Use a biscuit cutter or cup to cut out rolls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool before serving. Enjoy!

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced or shredded 
  • ¾ cup milk or cream
