Homemade Strawberry Jam

This super simple recipe is a fun Christmas activity to do with the whole family!

Method

  1. Clean the strawberries and remove the stems. Crush the strawberries in a large mixing bowl using a potato masher or a fork.
  2. Transfer the crushed strawberries to a large saucepan. Add sugar to the strawberries and stir over low heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Add the lemon juice to the mixture. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes or until the jam has thickened. Stir occasionally to prevent the jam from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Once the jam has reached the desired consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Transfer the jam to clean, sterilized jars and seal tightly.
  5. Store the jam in the refrigerator. It will last for up to 3 months

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
