Method

  1. Grease a large bowl or mold with butter or nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Place the bread cubes in the bottom of the prepared bowl or mold.

  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the berry mixture, sugar and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

  4. Pour the berry mixture over the bread cubes in the bowl or mold and press down lightly to ensure all the bread is soaked in the mixture.

  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  6. To serve, turn out onto a platter and cut into slices. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf stale white bread, crusts removed
  • 3 cups fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
