- Begin by toasting the bagels to your preferred level of crispness. This will add a delightful crunch that contrasts well with the creamy toppings.
- Lay out the toasted bagels on a large serving platter. Place a bowl of cream cheese, allowing guests to spread as much as they like on their bagel halves.
- Arrange slices of smoked salmon next to the cream cheese. Sprinkle a small dish with capers, and place sea salt and freshly ground black pepper nearby so guests can season their bagels to taste.
- Warm the hot cross buns slightly, just to bring out their aroma and soften them. Place these on the platter alongside the bagels or on a separate plate if preferred.
- In small bowls, serve Nutella and butter for spreading on the hot cross buns and bagels, offering a sweet counterpoint to the savory bagels.
- Finally, scatter a colourful assortment of fresh berries around the platter. Not only do they add a vibrant splash of colour, but they also provide a fresh, juicy contrast to the other components of the brunch.
