Braised Pork

Method

  1. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the cubed pork shoulder. Sear until lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

  2. Add the garlic, ginger, five-spice powder and Shaoxing wine to the pan and stir to combine.

  3. Reduce heat to low and add the soy sauce, sugar, star anise and 1/2 cup water to the pan. Simmer for 25-30 minutes until the pork is tender.

  4. Serve over steamed white rice or noodles for a complete meal. Enjoy!

  • 1kg boneless pork shoulder, cubed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 star anise
