Good Friday Appeal
Shopping local on Good Friday means a donation to Royal children’s hospital for our Gisborne store!
The Friday before Easter is a long-celebrated day in Australia. And that’s no different for our Gisborne store, who for many years has been celebrating Good Friday with an Appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Each year the team come up with fun Easter themed activities for the day. This year no different with in-store tastings, an animal farm, and a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny! The Williamson’s FoodWorks raised an impressive $25,000 in 2022.
Running a shorter day from 9am – 1pm, the staff donated their time to the day in support of the appeal. Store owner David came up with the idea in 2011 to open the store after being touched by the people and the services at the Royal Children’s Hospital when his son was born. “The generosity of our staff and our community has allowed us to donate $275,000 over the last 11 years”.
