Meat Pie with Mushy Peas

  1. Heat meat pie according to directions on packet.
  2. While pie is heating, boil peeled potatoes and set aside.
  3. In a separate pot, bring water to boil. Add frozen peas and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until tender.

  4. Drain potatoes and mash with milk and butter. Season to taste.

  5. Drain the peas and return them to the pot. Add the butter and chopped mint leaves. Use a masher or fork to mash the peas until they reach your desired consistency. Season to taste.

  6. Heat gravy as per manufacturer's instructions.

  7. To serve, place each pie layered with creamy mashed potato, mushy peas and gravy.


  • 4 individual beef pies (frozen or chilled)
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • A few fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 packet pre-made beef gravy (or powder)
