  1. Preheat oven to 170°C. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. In a saucepan gently melt the butter together with golden syrup. In a small bowl, mix the baking soda with a tablespoon of boiling water.
  3. Stir in the baking soda mixture to the butter/golden syrup. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring well to incorporate.
  4. Place 50 cent coin size pieces of the dough on baking paper lined tray and then press down with the palm of your hand to flatten. Bake for approx. 15 mins. Leave to cool, enjoy!


  • 125g Butter
  • 2 tbs Golden Syrup
  • 1 tbs Boiling Water
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Sifted Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
