FoodWorks and Best Buy support the Royal Run for Research

FoodWorks continued their tradition of supporting the local community by sponsoring the annual Royal Run for Research. An annual fun run, the Royal Run for Research raises much needed funds for Queensland’s largest and busiest hospital, ‘The Royal’.

Held on Sunday, 24th of July, the 8 kilometre run and 6 kilometre walk attracted more than 300 participants. Thanks to FoodWorks Loganholme and our own Best Buy water, participants were rewarded for their hard work with a cold bottle of water at the end of the run.

Established in 1985, the RBWH Foundation is the charity arm of Queensland’s largest hospital. Although the hospital receives funding from the Government, it doesn’t cover the cost of equipment, training and research which enables the hospital to provide the best possible patient care, along with access to new technology and treatment methods.

The Foundation relies heavily on community support to raise these funds and is grateful for the ongoing support of local businesses like FoodWorks.

A big congratulations to overall race winners Matt Cooper and Clare Geraghty who won the Open Male and Female divisions in 26.34 and 28.58 minutes respectively.
